What to expect heading toward October 3- Analysis of KPREP Data
From Tuesday 9/27 to Tuesday 10/3, we will think on the specifics of that plan: what needs changing? what is our end goal? what can we realistically manage? what do we visualize happening? what do we need to continue because we have the proof that it's good?
On October 3, we will look at the full set of data from KPrep, and we will decide what to Do.
Whatever you decide to Do in your Plan will be what you will Study. This is not PD I'm talking about...this is elevating your practice. Some have already begun this process. Our math department is engaged in a book study with Amanda. Our 7th grade ELA teachers are studying together how to implement learning from their Teacher's College sessions. Professionals are always studying to get better and stay current.
Your study will be part of your 2 pronged commitment to Act. The second prong will be the shift, change, addition, focus, and/or risk you plan to make visible in your classroom as a result of what you see in the narrative we will form together from the numbers.
Add something new to your toolbox
Your homework for this week is to give something from one of these resources a try. On October 3, you'll have an exit slip that requires you to contribute to an East Middle Educator blog sharing what you tried!

Clubs
I cannot begin to tell you how good it feels as a school leader to say "YES!" to a student created plan. Makes my heart happy!
We will start regular club time after Fall break. Begin considering what you might like to explore with students. And I THINK Ms. Lovell will need a co-leader for her anime club (it's BIG already)
