The Good News - March 5th, 2023
St. John XXIII Catholic School
Second Sunday of Lent
Leadership Message
Jesus not only lived as a human, but He died and rose again so that we could have life with God. Knowing that makes us shine with the hope of Jesus.
Each day we see staff and students eager to share their light with others, and celebrate the love that God has for us! It’s a wonderful and blessed gift, and we don’t have to go up on a mountain to witness it. We know that Jesus was the final fulfillment of all that had been hoped for, and He is still our joy today!
At St. John XXIII we have many wonderful experiences in our daily walk with Jesus. Others can see the love of Jesus in our hearts by seeing his reflection shining bright in each one of our staff and students!

Alberta Education Assurance Survey
If you have a child in grade 4 you would have received a survey from Alberta Education through the mail. Please watch for this.
We would encourage you to complete this survey. The AEA Parent survey has been extended to March 17th as there have been delays with mailouts for parent packages from Alberta Education.
Students in Grades 4 will also complete these surveys.
Thank you for sharing your voice.

Growing Brains & Sharing Smiles! It's a GREAT Day to be a St. John Kid!

How To Mark Your Child's Absence in School Messenger
**REPORTING ABSENCES** Very Important for our tracking of health and safety for our school
HOW TO MARK YOUR CHILD'S ABSENCE IN SCHOOL MESSENGER
- FLU - illness due to flu and cold like symptoms
- Other Illness or Injury - if they are experiencing symptoms that you do not deem to be flu or cold like, or your child has a medical appointment.
- Parent Excused - if your child is experiencing no illness/symptoms at all, please choose this. The parent excused absence should only be chosen if you are keeping your child home for a reason that does not pertain to a medical issue. (i.e dance competition)
