Absentee Ballots Go Out September 21: Request Yours Today!
Did you know that, due to the passage of the statewide ballot proposal 18-3, all eligible and registered voters in Michigan may now request an absentee voter ballot without providing a reason? You no longer have to drive to your voting precinct and stand in line in order for your vote to be counted.
That means, for the November 5, 2019, school bond election, any registered voter can vote in person or by absentee ballot, which will be made available by September 21. Absentee ballot requests must be received by your clerk no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, November 1. If you’re already registered at your current address, you can pick up an absent voter ballot in person at your clerk’s office anytime up to 4 p.m. on the day prior to the election.
Once you have received your absentee ballot, you have until 8 p.m. on election day to return it to the clerk's office. Your ballot will not be counted unless your signature is on the return envelope and matches your signature on file.
For more information on the 2019 School Bond, visit LapeerSchools.org and click the graphic on the main page. You can also download the absentee voter application.

Principals share a PowerPoint each year with their staff to education them about identifying and serving homeless students.
If a student has been identified as homeless, services/supports are provided to remove barriers to learning, such as providing transportation, free lunch/breakfast, school materials, etc., regardless if they attend a Title I school.
