Holy Rosary School Derby
NEWSLETTER / TERM 3 / WEEK 10 / 21st September 2022
Message from Miss Melanie
We celebrated the Sacrament of the Eucharist on Sunday the 11th September. The candidates were well prepared by Miss Jemima and Miss Jocelyn and looked fabulous on the day. Thank you to Monsignor Paul for officiating. Congratulations to Coco, Kazarna and Daniel. Thank you to their families for supporting them in their preparation and celebration of the Sacrament. I would also like to thank Miss Alis for making the cake, and Miss Kylie, Miss Lesley and Miss Kellie for preparing the lovely morning tea that we shared after the mass.
How lucky were the Year 6's to go on an amazing camp to Broome. They were lucky enough to participate in some fun activities such as going on a camel ride, Willie Creek Pearl Farm Tour, a Wakaj dance experience, checking out some crocodiles and enjoying some chill out time at the beach. There will be a highlights video being shown at our final assembly on Friday of Week 10, please join us.
Holy Rosary was represented by an excellent group of students at the Inter-school Athletics Carnival in Broome. Congratulations for the "can do" attitude across all of our events, we were very proud of your sportsmanship displayed on the day. Further details below.
Finally have a safe and happy holiday. Students and staff rest, relax and rejoice in the company of the special people in your lives over the holiday period. I will be relaxing with my family and look forward to seeing the students' happy smiling faces when they return on Tuesday 11th October. This week's photo is of me with some of my family.
God Bless.
Miss Melanie

Farewell Miss Aoife
We would like to thank Miss Aoife for her wonderful care of our Kindy class this term while Miss Christine was on maternity leave. Miss Aoife was an amazing contribution to our Holy Rosary community and we feel very grateful to have had her for the term. Our Kindy class will miss her dearly and we wish her all the best as she returns to Perth.
The Sports Scoop
Congratulations to all the students that participated in the inter-school Athletics Carnival in Broome on Friday the 9th September. It was a very early start to the day but our team arrived with big smiles on their faces and enthusiasm to match. I was very proud of our teams can-do attitude towards every event they participated in on the day and the encouragement they gave towards their fellow team mates, excellent examples of sportsmanship shown by all on the day. Thank you to Miss Jess for organising, also to Miss Kylie, Miss Sharelle and Miss Imogen for supporting the team on the day.

I am so tech-cited to tell you about the technology and other things that was there. It was so amazing because we met some people called Sam, Lindsey, and Cheryl. There was a huge piano.
First, we began our journey hopping on a bus. Then we all went inside and met our tour guides Sam, Lindsey, and Cheryl. Then we went to the phone room. Then we went to the room with the airport equipment. Then we went to the delicate room. We walked through the hall with the knives and a rusty car. Then we went to a room with a typewriter and glass bottles. Then we went to a cool room with the jetty, teddy bear and glasses.
We went outside and played it and Felicity, Ellee-Rose, Niha and Jackie all told ghost stories. We hopped on the bus and went to school. Then we had lunch.
