Introducing West Middle School's New Assistant Principal, Therese Brink Edgecomb
Hello!
I am so excited to be joining the West Middle school community! As your new assistant principal I will work hard to continue the legacy of success for which our school is known, by building strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and community partners. Together we will focus on continued strong academic achievement, well-supported extra-curricular activities, and a commitment to development of the whole child for every student that walks through our doors.
Let me share a little of my background. I received my Bachelors in Psychology and Elementary Ed from Emporia State University and my Masters in School Leadership from Baker University. I also have endorsement in English as Second Language. I've spent the majority of my career in the Lawrence Public School District where I taught primary through middle school at various schools in the district. Most recently I have been the PD Coordinator at the Auburn-Washburn School District where I have been in charge of educator training and served as the Remote Learning Principal.
My husband Mark Edgecomb and I have two sons Camaron and Lincoln who graduated not long ago from Lawrence Free State High School and attended West Middle school and Sunset Hill Elementary. As you can see, we are already a West Family! We have two dogs, Oreo and Sable who love to go on walks with us around our neighborhood, or at the off-leash dog park near Clinton Lake. We have deep roots in Lawrence, staying involved in many activities and events, as we are very committed to this community.
During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide our students the best opportunities to prepare for their place in the world, ready to master challenges placed in their path. As Assistant Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input.
