Career Day Volunteers Needed! April 1st, 2022
Dear Parents and Community Members,
Career Day planning is here and we need YOUR experiences! Whether you are a nurse, mechanic, police officer, custodian, business owner, vet, hair stylist, etc.- we need you Friday, April 1st, 2022!
We are looking for a variety of people interested in talking to our students about your career.
This is a fantastic way to provide them with first hand knowledge of potential career paths, get involved in HES and make an impact on the students’ future. If you are unable to appear in person, but would like to present please feel free to create a video on youtube and send the counselors the link.
We are seeking “Careers on Wheels” (examples: mobile vet, fire truck, food truck, police car, farmer with tractor, etc.) and classroom presentations. Please use this link or the button below to sign up in the appropriate section.
“Careers on Wheels” presentations will be approximately 10- 15 minutes per group and take place in the parking lot, by the vehicle. Additionally, we want to provide classroom career presentations where speakers rotate amongst a class of students. These would be approximately 25 minute time blocks per group.
Volunteers are welcome, whether they are able to stay the entire time or only a portion. There will be multiple rotations of students through your presentation. We will reach out to you, closer to the event with further information, if you choose to volunteer . Once we know how many volunteers we have, we will be able to give you a more specific time frame. A completed KISD background check is required.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions to Angela at angela.snyder@kellerisd.net or Evan at evan.williams@kellerisd.net .
Thank you in advance for your involvement!
