This years Family Fun Night Cake Walk raised $475.00 for No Kid Hungry and Life Navigators Giving Tree 2017. It wouldn't have been possible without the AMAZING amount of donations and McKinley Messenger student and parent volunteers. This years best in show cake winners with their awesome creations were: the Deutsch Family with their Hamburger Cake, the Janowski Family with their Doggy Cupcakes, and the Lane Family with their Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes. Thanks to everyone that made the Cake Walk a success!
Family Fun Night Thanks
What a great turn out. Thanks to all of you who came out for the fun! Huge thanks to the close to 100 volunteers that helped out that night too, with a special shout out to the Tosa West Key Club, Cub Scout Pack 116, Girl Scout Troops 8378 and 8084. We couldn't host this event without everyone's help. A special thank you to the McKinley teachers for their support in promoting the event and to Terri, Charlotte, Juan and Mrs. Hoffmann for their pre-event coordination and guidance. A sweet thanks to all those that donated treats for the McKinley Messenger Cakewalk and to Danielle Long and Deni Klingforth for coordinating. They raised $475 to benefit The Giving Tree (Life Navigators) and No Kid Hungry. And, congratulations to Sara Deutsch (hamburger cake), Jennifer Janowski (doggy cupcakes), and Robin Lane (ice cream cone cupcakes) for winning Best in Show for their donation.

Under the Sea Sock Hop

McKinley Adult Social
Tickets are on SALE for the McKinley Adult Social - Prom Night. Ticket order form is also available below.
There is still time to VOTE! We are looking for help in deciding where the funds raised from this year’s social will go. Additional details on the items and a link to vote are listed below. Voting will be open until Friday, March 10th.
1. Portable PA System - The new system would be used in the Multi-Purpose Room during lunch on movie reward days, 5th grade completion ceremony and in the gym during monthly assemblies.
2. Flexible Seating Options - This includes (wiggle seats, standing desks, air-filled cushions) which were only available for students with special needs. Research has shown that flexible seating options can help all students improve focus in the learning environment. The items that have been purchased are all in use.
3. Classroom Specific iPads - These iPads (~5/room) would be for individual classroom use, with class specific learning tools on them. There would be no need for teachers to check them out.

For those who have already purchased tickets, stay tuned for additional details in the coming weeks.
Also, we are seeking additional items for the raffle and silent auction, so if you have something to include (tickets, a service, an experience, beer, bottle of wine or liquor), please let us know. If you have already donated, THANK YOU! Contact Erin Kell at febz99@hotmail.com or 262-751-6924.

PTO Committee Help Needed!
We have an immediate vacancy for someone to chair the Dining Out fundraising events. This role involves contacting restaurants, making arrangements to hold events, and following up after the event. You would not be required to attend the actual event. This position could be handled by one person or a small committee. The PTO has ideas and contact information for restaurants that have been successful fundraisers in the past.
We are also in need of a new PTO Treasurer for the coming school year. If you are interested, please contact current treasurer Phil Janowski for more information.
If you are interested in learning more about these positions, please contact Kristi Knoedler, Chris Riley, or Molly Hannan for more information. Thanks!
