Friendly Reminders

  • All students not riding a bus are to be dropped off in the car rider line in the morning unless previous arrangements have been made with the Principal.
  • We do our best to keep classroom disruptions to a minimum. If your child forgets an item and you bring it in, please do not be offended if the front office asks for you to leave the item with them so it can be delivered at an appropriate time.
  • If there is a change in transportation for students at the end of the day, we must be notified by a Parent/Guardian before 3:00pm.
  • If electronics (cell phones, ipods, gaming systems) are brought into school and removed from backpacks, they will be confiscated by the teacher. A parent/guardian will be asked to pick up the electronic at the front desk.
  • When having lunch with your student in the cafeteria please remember to only have your child sit with you at the family table. We like to keep the table open for other families. Please No Fast Food!
  • We can no longer allow birthday/special occasion cakes, cookies, or cupcakes brought into the school. This is for the safety of our students who have allergies or health conditions. Parents are encouraged to bring goodies such as bookmarks, pencils, stickers, donation of a book to the class, goodie bags, etc.
  • Students with food allergies must provide their own safe alternative snacks. These can be stored in classrooms or the clinic.

Clinic Reminders

  • Immunizations- Indiana law requires the parents of all school children to furnish proof of the child's immunizations and these immunizations MUST all be up to date. A new requirement is that ALL elementary aged children have 2 Varicella (chicken pox) vaccines. If you receive a letter stating that your child is in need of immunizations please check with the physician's office to see if the child has had the missing immunizations and if the child needs the immunization please schedule an appointment ASAP. Many pharmacies are now offering childhood immunizations and appointments are not typically necessary and the Marion County Health Department offers immunizations to children. Once you have proof of the immunization please send a copy to school or have the physician fax a copy of the record to 781-9163.
  • If your child is vomiting, experiencing diarrhea, or has a fever they must be free of these symptoms for 24 hours before returning to school.
  • Please return any medical paperwork as soon as possible.
  • All medications must be brought in by parent or guardian to school.

The Bunker Hill PTO coordinates many enrichment programs, raises funds for supplemental educational materials and experiences, supports school and family social interaction and provides a forum for sharing information on issues that impact our children. It is our belief that the team effort of a parent teacher organization offers the best possible learning environment for our children.

Start making plans to join us for Bunker Hill's Family Fun Walk-a-thon on Friday, September 4, 2015 from 9:00-3:40pm. This event occurs on the school grounds. Family members are welcome to join their student during the school day for their designated walk time. Donations and pledges will be collected prior to the event. This would be a great time to get outdoors, exercise, and benefit the school at the same time. More information will be coming soon.
