Shark "Shout Outs" (SSO's) - MRHS's way of Appreciating the Great People here!

Shark Shout Outs are spreading fast & furious at MRHS. We start every staff meeting with Shout Outs to colleagues and Shout Out to students nominated for student of the month during am announcements. Now, students and Parents are welcome to send in a Shark Shout Out as a token of appreciating other students and staff in the school. Email Mr. Burkhead at, or drop them off to Ms. Curt in the main office! The enthusiasm is contagious!

Dear Mr. Burkhead,

I certainly hope that you’ve heard either directly or through the proverbial grapevine…how exciting the presentation and program was this year with the enthusiastic support of Lisa Doyle, Rich Houston and Angelina Chilaka. Presenting in the classrooms and/or team area open space is definitely the best milieu for reaching students on a personal level. The students have been amazing- opening hearts and minds to seeing prejudice and immigrant struggles through new lenses.

We will be back next year! Many thanks for the opportunity.

Jane Martin

Education Outreach Coordinator

Mr. Burkhead, I’m giving credit to the HS students and community for joining in our fundraising efforts in our CES (they are featured in our "Harwich High Fives" newsletter for their contributions.

Library Media Center News

As the school year comes to a close, it is time for students to return any materials that they have checked out from our library media center. Ms. Wheaton would like all checkouts to be returned by next Friday, June 19th. Brooks Free Library and Eldredge Public Library are great resources for summer reading. In addition to their print and digital book collections, the Massachusetts Library System has put together a collection of digital titles that all residents statewide may access with their public library card. The Commonwealth eBook collection contains thousands of best-selling titles ready to download to your computer or mobile device. Finally, Audio Book Sync is a free audiobook download program for the summer. Each week, Audio Sync offers a thematic pair of audiobooks (one young adult and one classic) that users may download for free.
