SEW (Social Emotional Wellness) in School and at Home
In school, teachers and staff provide direct instruction in the development of social skills and emotional wellness strategies. Through classroom meetings, literature based discussions, collaborative learning activities, and self reflection opportunities, students engage in Social Emotional Learning. Competencies include Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social-Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making.
At home, we encourage you to continue the conversation. Ask your children about Morning Meetings, talk about lunch and recess interactions, celebrate choices that lift up others and boost personal pride. In addition, take time to teach your children about the meaning of gratitude and to recognize the things to be thankful for in their lives. These conversations encourage a positive mindset, developing habits of mind that improve Social Emotional Wellness.
And...we'll start the conversation by sharing that we are grateful for you. The Bridge Valley community of students, parents, and staff continue to demonstrate their commitment to the whole child. It is a privilege to serve in a school filled with and surrounded by such a caring community.

Happy Holidays
Blazer Blessings Gift of Giving 2019
Dear Bridge Valley Families:
During the Holiday Season, the staff and students of Bridge Valley plan to share the spirit of giving with local families and their children. We will continue the tradition of a Holiday Giving Tree, the proceeds to which will be distributed to Bridge Valley families. The entire Bridge Valley community is encouraged to participate in the holiday program. Through this cooperative effort we can share in the joy that comes from giving. Holiday giving trees will be placed in the main entryway. The tree will be decorated with snowflake and mitten tags. Each tag will have a person's age and gender printed on it along with a gift suggestion. If your family would like to help a people in need, please take a tag. The gifts must be wrapped with the tag securely attached to the gift and placed under the giving tree.
In addition to the Giving Tree, we request that each student contributes $3.00 that will be used to purchase gift cards to grocery stores for the families in need. Our effort will assist many families in the local community.
Dates to remember:
November 25th : Giving Tree tags available
November 25th - December 16th : $3.00 contribution and gifts to be collected
