News from Mrs. Mankin
Dear Bulldogs,
What a wonderful school community we have...I have always known this, but experiencing a pandemic together has really brought our FISH expectations to life! At New Britton, our primary focus during eLearning is connecting with and caring for families as we learn. Thank you to each member of our community for the collaboration in supporting our students.
We have done some building and district-level reflection after the first two weeks and will be making some adjustments as a result. One of the adjustments will be more specific hours that teachers will be available for small-group and/or individual support. Your child's teacher will be communicating the details to you. We would also like to hear from you as part of this reflection. If you have not already, please take some time to respond to the eLearning survey that you child's teacher has shared with you. This information will be used to help us make supportive in-flight corrections as we continue to navigate eLearning. Dr. Bourff will also be sharing some district information with you soon via a video announcement.
As always, thank you for partnering with us in education!
Sincerely,
Lori Mankin

STAFF SPOTLIGHT
Mr. Casey Temple – Fourth Grade Teacher
A Little about Me: This is my tenth year of teaching, and fifth at New Britton. I'm also the Writing Club and Math Club sponsor. I taught fourth and fifth grade for five years in Lawrence Township. I'm originally from South Bend, but went to college in Missoula, Montana, and have also lived in Wyoming and New Mexico. I worked in journalism for a decade before going back to school to become a teacher. I have a wonderful wife (Carly), who is also my best friend, two amazing children (Quinn and Wyatt), and a 90-pound pit bull-chocolate lab mix (Lucky), who is sort of a third child. Quinn is in third grade and Wyatt is in first grade at New Britton. I coach football, basketball, softball and baseball through Fishers-HSE Sports, which is where I spend a lot of my time when I'm not at NBE.
What Brings Me Joy: My family, my class, teaching and coaching, seeing students succeed, reading, sports, hiking and camping, and family vacations.
Favorite Food: Pizza
Favorite place(s) to visit: Rocky Mountain West and western Michigan
