An introductory course to Family & Consumer Sciences
Course Requirements
Life Skills is a hands-on class, in which students participate in various activities to apply their knowledge to real world experiences. Therefore, it is important to be prepared for class daily. Students are expected to have the following items daily:
-A three ring binder with paper or notebook/folder due Monday, August 11
-A pencil, pen, or other writing instrument
-A positive attitude and willingness to work in class
iPads will be used on permission of teacher. They MUST be kept out of sight unless instructor permission is given.
IPads MUST be put away /out of sight.
iPads may be used for class assignments ONLY
iPads may be used with limited consequences
Class fee is $15.00 and will cover all materials used in class!

Course Description
LifeSkills is a comprehensive course designed to develop basic living skills in foods, clothing management, consumer economics, child/human development, housing, parenting, and relations, career and family. Some of the activities in this class include food preparations) cookies, convenience foods, quick breads, nutritional meals), creating a sewing project, laundering, arranging furniture on a floor plan and choosing interior design, check writing and balancing a checkbook, directing safety and care of children, discussing contemporary issues involving human development and family relations, improving study skills, and much more.
