T-shirt sizes are now limited to what's available, but don't let that stop you. This is a great excuse to get moving for good cause.
Seal of Biliteracy
Students in 11th and 12th grades have an opportunity to earn the South Carolina Seal of Biliteracy. This award recognizes students who have attained a certain level of proficiency in both English and at least one additional world language by graduation. A qualifying proficiency test score for the language other than English must be earned during the applicant’s junior or senior year. Students have the opportunity to show their proficiency in the following languages: American Sign Language (ASL), Chinese, French, German, Latin, and Spanish.
Students may check with their world language teachers for additional information regarding foreign language requirements and with Dr. Kaaren Hampton for questions regarding American Sign Language requirements.
Interested students need to complete the first part of the IHS Seal of Biliteracy Application by Friday, November 6, and return it to Dr. Hampton. If students need a hard copy of the application, they may obtain it from their world language teacher or Dr. Hampton.
