The Rumaki have acknowledgement trophies for the children who try really hard to speak māori all day everyday. Every week the trophies will be distributed to a senior student and a junior student. The trophies will remain at school but their certificates will go home with them. Arihia Te Rire received the senior Reo-ā-waha for this week and Te Aramoana Huriwaka for the juniors.

Support our students this weekend
Congratulations to the Kawerau JAB Under 9s Team who will play their FINALS this Saturday against Paroa.
Both Teams came out top of their grade. Big Shout out to our Kawerau Putauaki students in the team, Kaihautu, Crusade, Keira, Levi, Quintin, Te Puru and Maddox.
Whānau, Go and Support our kids and watch their finals on Saturday 3rd July at Rugby Park Whakatane at 8.30am.
After that, head over to Netball, Cutler Cres, to watch our Kawerau Totara Team in the Year 5-6 7v7 Competitive Grade FINALS at 10.30am.

Update on our Kawerau Pūtauaki Basketball Team
Good game yesterday for our Kawerau Pūtauaki Year 5-6 team just missing out on play off for 1st place next week.
It was a close Semi Final game against Whakatane SDA. Both Teams evenly matched however it came down to the execution of goals with SDA winning 5-4.
Kawerau Pūtauaki Team will play off for 3&4 next week. Well done team. Very Proud.

The year 6 teachers are pleased to inform whānau that we have planned a year 6 camp in term four this year.
We have been ‘pencil booked’ activities and accommodation however, we need whānau support for this camp in order to make it happen. Your support starts by attending a whānau hui at 4.30pm next Wednesday 7th July. We will discuss information regarding planned activities, travel, accommodation, costs and fundraising.
