Schoology + Google: Using Google Drive Assignments inside Schoology

Schoology’s Application for Google Drive

Schoology has recently changed how it integrates with Google Drive. This will change how you submit documents and presentations to Schoology from your Google Drive account. It is still easy to do but requires an extra step and will require you to re-link your accounts. Instructions with screen shots are shown below. Let me know if you have any questions.

How DoI Link My Accounts?

Steps 1 and 2

1. Your first step of this process is to obviously log into Schoology (I know, crazy difficult, right?).

2. Next, click on RESOURCES at the top of your screen. Then click on APPS.

Step 3 & 4

3. Because the Google Drive app has already been downloaded for the entire school and is the only app in your resources area, It should automatically be selected and appear in a screen similar to the one here.

4. Simply click APPROVE and then click CONNECT on the next screen.

Step 5 & 6

5. You should get a new window or tab that appears with the Google sign in page. Type in your log in information for your Google account.

6. After you click SIGN IN, click on ACCEPT to allow Schoology access to your Google information.

Step 7

Step 3

After clicking on the assignment, click on the SUBMIT ASSIGNMENT button on the right hand side of the screen.

Step 4

4. In the box that pops up, click on the RESOURCES tab at the top.

Step 5

5. When the next screen appears, you will need to click on the APPS button on the left hand side of the box. This will bring up your Google Drive Application by default since it is the only one you have. If you eventually have multiple applications downloaded, you’ll simply just click on the one for Google Drive.

Step 6

To select the document you want to submit, simply click on the empty box next to its title. You’ll see a check appear in the box. You may select as many documents as you need to submit to the same assignment.

Step 7

7. Once you have selected them, click on SELECT at the top of the screen.

Step 8

8. You will see a small window pop up that shows the progress of your download. When the download is finished, the small windows will close out and you should see that your documents have submitted on the right hand side where the SUBMIT ASSIGNMENT button was.
