COVID-19 Updates
As you know, I sent out two emails last week, both to inform you of positive cases within our school community. We are working hard to keep the students and staff safe, and we need your help.
IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL IF THEY HAVE ANY OF THE MANY COVID-LIKE SYMPTOMS. We are required to maintain a very low threshold for sickness and must send home any student with even one symptom. Students with symptoms are sent home for a minimum of 10 days and possibly 14. The nurse will discuss each child’s situation with the parent to determine the appropriate number of days out and the plan for returning to school.
COVID Test Results: Please report any POSITIVE Covid-19 results to the school nurse immediately. Thank you. If you get your child COVID tested and need to report the negative results to us for a return to school, please send them directly to our school nurse. Tara Washington at tawashington@pvschools.net. Or call 602-449-4103.

Support DTES's first ever Boosterthon DANCE-OFF!
Tell your family and friends to donate to our amazing school while our students dance their feet off from the classroom or at home!
Picture Day
PVConnect and PVOnline students are welcomed to come and get their picture taken at school from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
PVConnect & In-Person
We will change your child to PVConnect immediately, following a reported exposure, quarantine, or the like. For any other reason however, we do ask the you contact the front office before making any changes. The teachers spend a great deal of time preparing both the physical environment and learning structures in order to meet all of their students' needs. So, the students should not frequently switch between the models.
2020 PBISaz AmAZing Award
We are excited to announce that Desert Trails Elementary earned the 2020 PBISaz amAZing Award!
The PBISaz amAzing Award recognizes the extra efforts schools put forth to adapt PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) to remote learning and supporting the needs of the school community during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
This award recognizes the dedication of our school staff and our community to uphold our school expectation to SOAR everyday by being Safe, Open-Minded, Always Kind, and Responsible.
Together, we continue to build a school culture that is more positive, proactive, and supportive for all our students so that they can be successful citizens and leaders of our nation. Our PBISaz amAZing award will proudly be displayed in our school office and on our website.
