No School On Monday, January 16 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Happy New Year Everyone!
Just a reminder, all UCS schools are closed on Monday, Jan. 16, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. School will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 17!
Report cards were made available on PowerSchool this week. You should be able to access your child(ren)'s report cards with your parent account. The office staff checked it out and every Beck parent has created a PowerSchool account. Yeah! If you were not able to access the report cards, or individual child's account, please give the Beck office a call.
Lost and Found - It is OVERFLOWING!!! We have moved our mountains of missing and lost clothing items to our front hallway. Please stop in before or afterschool, when you're picking your child up for an early dismissal or an appointment, or just come on it to check it out! There are some pics below. Things still here on Feb. 17 (last day before Winter Break) will be washed and donated.
NWEA testing will begin this coming week. Students in Kindergarten through 6th grade will be tested in math and reading. These test results will be used by teachers for their instructional planning and by our school for our School Improvement Plan. Teachers will share this information with parents after the test window.
Happy Friday the 13th everyone!

Attention 6th Grade Parents!
6th Grade Students/Families: Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)
AVID is a program available at all Junior High Schools (pending Board of Education approval to add Malow Junior High as a site for the 2023-24 school year). AVID’s mission is to help prepare all students for college readiness and success in a global society which directly aligns to the district mission and vision. AVID is a program for “middle to upper middle” academic students who have potential for honors and AP coursework in junior high school but would benefit from academic and emotional support paired with the rigor. If you would like more information regarding the AVID program, please view the attached presentation and attend the UCS Pathways Event on January 17th at 6:00PM at Henry Ford II High School. honors and AP work in high school but need academic and emotional support paired with the rigor. Students have an AP/Honors class and AVID course to support.
