A Message from Principal Norris-Buck
Dear Royal Families,
We hope you had a great week! Being in person with our young Royals is a true gift and blessing. One of our cohort groups has been working on a newspaper. These 6th graders wanted to share their newspaper with you. Click here to read their second edition. We also have many activities and ways to show our Royal spirit coming up. We have information about three of them below. Our Spirit Week and our Food to Fill Hearts Drive begin next Tuesday and last through Friday, 2/19. Also occuring on Tuesday, is the informational meeting for our Quist's Got Talent Annual Talent Show at 9:00am. Mrs. Marks-Berner and Mrs. Marino-Fallick are sponsoring this event. The specific links and sign up are in my Virtual Announcements under Breaking News.
Counselor Week: This week was National Counselor Week! We are grateful for our couseling team and the work they do with all of us here at Quist. If you have a moment, please send our team a small note of appreciation, or better yet, have your child do it. Thank you Mr. Miller, Mr. Bonomo, and Mrs. Muniz for all you do for us.
State Test Information: The State of Colorado plans on asking school district to give the CMAS state tests in English Language Arts, Mathematics and Science this spring. They want all virtual students to come into the building to take this assessment. Mr. Marlatt and Mr. Komora, our School Assessment Coordinators, have created a short survey to gather some information to help us continue to plan. If you haven't completed this, please take a moment to do so.
Open Enrollment: The Open Enrollment period has begun and closes on February 12. If you open enrolled into Quist and want to stay at Quist, your child will automatically roll up into Quist. If your child is in 8th grade, open enrolled at Quist and your boundary high school isn't RRHS, you will need to open enroll there for your child to attend. If you have any additional questions, please call the front office and speak with me or our registrar, Mrs. Davis.
Free Grab and Go Meals: This is just a reminder that 27J Nutrition Services is still able to offer FREE Grab and Go meals for anyone 1 to 18 years old. If your child attends in-person, they can order their meals on either Tuesday or Wednesday before 11:00 am and the meals will be delivered to them after 4pm at school. If your child is a Virtual Learner, please complete this form to request meals for the week. A separate request is needed for each student. For virtual learners, the meals (for the entire week) must be picked up on Tuesday between 11:30am and 1:30pm and will include breakfast and lunch. All orders must be placed online by 3pm on Monday the day before pickup. Pick up locations are Brighton High School or Prairie View High School.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Trina Norris-Buck, Ed.S.
Lead Learner/Principal
