Our speaker's grandmother passed away unexpectedly this weekend, and the wake and funeral will be held out of town on our original date for this meeting. Please mark your calendars, as we have re-scheduled to Tuesday, February 5, 2019.

New year – New Goals for a Healthy Lifestyle!

We will be hosting this event in the meeting room at the Midtown Hy-Vee.
Topics for discussion include:
- Healthy snacking at work
- What's the deal with Keto?
- Tips for Salad in a Jar
- Healthy substitutions
Light dinner will be provided (Salad in a Jar), and we will also put together some healthy snacks for attendees to take with them.

Sarah Sortino, RD, LMNT
Sarah obtained her bachelor's degree in nutritional science and dietetics from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She completed her internship at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital near Chicago, Illinois. Sarah is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as local state and city dietetics chapters.
Sarah has been working as a registered dietitian for Hy-Vee since 2008. Sarah has a wide range of expertise, including weight management, diabetes, heart disease, food allergies and eating disorders. She is actively involved in helping customers and community members improve their eating habits and overall health by providing “hands-on” nutrition education. She enjoys teaching cooking and weight-loss classes, nutritional counseling and healthy foods grocery store tours.
Sarah believes that taking a preventative approach with nutritious eating and physical activity can help keep the mind and body strong and healthy. Sarah believes all foods can be enjoyed in moderation. Being healthy means having balance in all aspects of your life, including food. Small changes in diet and physical activity can produce tremendous results.
