Parent Newsletter #30 5/29/21
As we finish up the school year, I want to extend a very big and heartfelt "thank you" for being educational partners with us this year. I know we have always been partners in the past, but this year our families have played a very different and larger role in how we connected to students. We acknowledge it and are appreciative of your efforts and sacrifices. I also want to acknowledge the amazing efforts and hard work of our teaching staff this year!
We are excited to have our students back on campus and we truly look forward to next year being a full year of in-person learning. Although we only have four days left of teaching and learning, I humbly ask that you continue to follow our protocols. We have fun and enriching activities planned for our students as we finish up this last week of school. I know our procedures have not always been the most convenient but the state and county protocols have been in place so that we can offer in-person learning for our students.
Have a safe and enjoyable long weekend!
A few facts about Memorial Day
Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day because of the decorations and flags that adorned the graves of fallen soldiers. It started in the years after the Civil War and the day became an official holiday in 1971. It is always observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died serving in the U.S. military. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in events like runs, walks or parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season.
