What is the Salsa?

The "Salsa" is a dance that originated in the 1960s-1970s in New York, strongly influenced by Cuba and Puerto Rico. The word "Salsa" was developed in the 1970s, as many musicians were experimenting with new sounds and styles. It his the U.S.'s east coast, as this sort of music was experimenting peaks and notable growth. The movements of the Salsa originated through the movements of other Latin dances such as the ChaChaCha and Mambo.
