Over the next two weeks, you will notice some adjustments to the schedule of the school day. At the start of this year, teachers revamped their classroom environment for online learning. Now they’ll need to adjust the space for in-person learning. To support this, the District set aside some time on Tuesday, March 23 for teachers to get their classrooms ready. This is a welcome help to teachers who are already using evenings and weekends to prepare for Phase 2. On Tuesday, March 23, teachers will meet with their class for 30 minutes at 8:45 am, then assign asynchronous work for the remainder of the day. Look to your child’s Canvas page for greater detail on the revised schedule.
Between March 24 and April 2, teachers, students and family members will be meeting for Student-led Conferences. These conferences align with the end of the second trimester and provide an opportunity to reflect on each student's growth so far this year. Teachers have already begun the process of having families sign up for individual conference times. To create time for these meetings, your child may have more asynchronous time and a revised afternoon schedule. Please review your classroom Canvas page for detail and contact your child's teacher to sign up for a Student-led Conference. You can watch for your child's second trimester progress report in the mail. You should receive it over Spring Break.
We appreciate your flexibility and support during these busy weeks.
Thank you for all you're doing,
Amy Stanger

Publishing House Speaker Series Concludes and Story Due Dates Approach
Join us Wednesday as we hear from our last Publishing House Speaker, Kreffan Bunker. Kreffan was a Sycamore student not so long ago, and he will be telling about how his Publishing House book literally grew into Mr. Rot's Garden! Kreffan's story will be presented in a video where he'll also answer questions students posed ahead of time. Since it is around lunch time, please feel free to nibble and zoom. The Zoom link is available on the “Sycamore Students” Publishing House Canvas page and is included below.
