Attendance Reminder
It is important to continue to encourage your child to attend school every day and remain in all classes for the entire day.
If your child leaves the building without parent/guardian permission, he/she will NOT be allowed back into the school and their attendance will be marked truant for the remaining periods.
If your child needs to leave school early, you must provide written verification with the following information, date, time needing to leave, parent/guardian telephone number, and the reason for early dismissal. Students will then be given an excuse to leave the building.
If a student fails to provide a signed note from parent, a student will only be released from the building to the parent(s) and/or the authorized emergency contact person(s) that comes into the building to sign them out.
Should your child be absent from school and/or tardy, it is required that you provide documentation or contact the attendance line for their absence. When students are absent, they are responsible for making up all missing assignments, failure to do so will negatively impact their grade.
Your help is very important to ensure your child be on time to school and attends all classes everyday. Thank you for your continuous support.

Here's What's Happening at Humboldt
Congratulations to these Hawk Authors
Thirteen Humboldt Juniors and Seniors authored a book this year in their English Language Development: Writing class. The book is titled We Are America, and features two personal narratives from each of the thirteen students, as well as a co-authored poem entitled Our American Skin. Students chose to write about a variety of different experiences from their lives that have shaped them and make them who they are. The students come from many different backgrounds. Between them, they represent 7 different countries/nations and speak 9 different languages. They are all American. The purpose of this book is to honor and uplift the vast diversity of the American experience and change the narrative around what it means to be American.
This week, the students will celebrate with a book launch party where they will share excerpts of their stories with other classes and some members of district leadership.
