Summer E-News

July 22, 2022

Dear Snail Lake Families,

Hello! I hope you are doing well and enjoying all that summer has to offer!

I’d love to invite you and your kindergartener to our summer Principal on the Playground! Come to the Snail Lake playground to meet a few new friends, play on our playground, and meet your kindergarten principal! See the Principal on the Playground signup for more information.

A few other things to keep in mind:

Kindergarten Supply List - Here is the kindergarten supply list. Please bring school supplies to Snail Lake on September 1. If you would like assistance, please see the flyers attached below. Information on how you can help other families in our community is also attached below.

Teacher Assignment - On August 19 you will receive an email on how to view your child’s teacher in ParentVUE. You will also be given information on how to sign up for an Early Connection Meeting with the teacher on September 1.

Screening - Has your child been screened? Minnesota state law requires all children to participate in Early Childhood Screening before entering kindergarten. Screening appointments are available at no cost to children ages 3.5 years - 5 years old. To get started, click here.

School Spirit Wear - if you are interested in purchasing Snail Lake spirit wear for your child, feel free to visit our school spirit wear website.

Transportation - if you are in need of busing for your child this fall, please learn more and register for transportation by August 1. (See the district-wide eNews from July 5.) For those families that register, specific bus drop off and pick up times and other route information will be shared approximately one week prior to school beginning.

Nutrition Services - information on our breakfast and lunch menu items, accommodations for special diets, and how (starting August 1) you will be able to apply for Educational Benefits, can be found on our district nutrition services site.

Health Services - our district health services site covers topics such as: health forms, medications at school, and allergies.

Mark Your Calendar - Thursday, September 1 is a big day at Snail Lake! This day will include the Early Connection Meeting with your child’s teacher, time for your child to get her/his official school picture taken, and time for a self-guided tour of the building. We look forward to seeing you here!

Summer is a busy time of year! May your summer be filled with laughter, joy, and time together with those you love!

In partnership,

Dr. Ryan Lang, Principal
