ESHS Senior Newsletter
February 2022
Graduation Requirements
- Monitor your grades esp. in classes you need for graduation requirements! Grades are important in elective classes, too!
- Remember that you have to pass both the U.S. and the MO Civics/Constitution tests in order to graduate. See Mrs. Nelson or Mrs. Quint asap for study help. Resources are posted in Echo!
- Please remember that CPR Training is a graduation requirement. Mrs. Uptegrove has contacted you if you still need to do this.
- EOCs are required in English II, Algebra I, Biology and Government unless you passed these classes in the spring of 2020 when testing was cancelled.
Senior Tidbits
- If you are planning to apply for college, do it now! You may have already missed some scholarship deadlines, but it’s not necessarily too late to apply.
- File the FAFSA for financial aid or A+ benefits for next year! If you didn’t get this done by February 1st, you missed the MO priority deadline for aid, but there still could be some aid available including federal aid up for eligible FAFSAs filed by April 1st. Check your college deadlines though! They could be earlier!
- Complete all scholarship applications that you are possibly eligible for! We are not omniscient and do not know all deadlines for scholarships that all colleges offer. You need to do a little research into the college of your choice and find the scholarships that they offer as well as the ones we advertise. Also, register on a free scholarship search website or app, such as fastweb.com, ask your parents if their employers or civic groups offer scholarships, ask your employer, your church, etc. In other words, be proactive, ask and research!
- Complete the local scholarship application that will be used to award many of our local scholarship applications. Check the scholarship list in this newsletter for more information on this application and others.
- Make sure you get your A+ hours logged if you are a Tiger in the Classroom!
