HELLO FALCON FAMILIES!
It's been a little while since we connected, but as we adjust to our current normal, we've got some updates to share with you all.
From a personal perspective, I miss the buzz and excitement of sharing the experience of nurturing our kids' education community. Whether it is being in class with Mrs. Santia on Thursdays, stopping by to sign checks and seeing Loretta, Elaine and Lucy around the office, or having great conversations at PTA meetings, I miss it all, and I know that the whole community shares these feelings of sadness and an element of loss.
What we mustn't forget is that at some point we'll all be back at school, and the school will need the help of the parent community more than ever. Below you'll find info on how we're handling the enormous funding shortfall from not having this year's Wish Benefit, as well as laying the groundwork for next year's PTA activities.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
HOW WE'RE FUNDING THE STUDENT ADVISOR
This year's event will not be able to happen as planned but that doesn't change the fact that we still need to raise the money.
We have committed to the school district that we're going to fund the student advisor position for one more year, to give the district and the school some time to find a permanent funding source. This means our kids will get the benefit of all that Nanci Ryan does for at least another year. The cost for this is covered 100% by paddle pledge proceeds, so with no paddle pledge, we've decided to raise that money via an online platform in May.
We know that we're in a time of economic uncertainty, but we also know that our parent community always does its best to put the needs of our children first. When we launch the fundraiser, please do what you can.
GOOD NEWS - WISH BENEFIT AND BEERFEST TO MERGE!
It will be less of a fundraiser and more of a party. Our current plan is to hold it in mid-September. Some things will be unchanged: we'll still have the same theme, there will be a live and silent auction, a heads-or-tails raffle, the same entertainment, food trucks and open bar, with much of the beer provided by our talented home-brewing parents.
What will be different is that the event will be at the gorgeous home of one of our McNear families. This means that we'll be capping the number of tickets at 125. We'll be re-launching ticket sales soon, so make sure to grab yours before they sell out.
Note: all tickets will be refundable should circumstances not allow us to hold the event.
