4-H VOLUNTEERS WANTED!
There are opportunities for you to be a volunteer - both youth and adults are needed. Being a 4-H Volunteer can help youth build a successful future. It is a rewarding experience as you see your efforts pay off through the smile of a child or a successful event. All adult volunteers need to be fully screened. Please contact MaryAnn Anderson if you are interested in being a volunteer! Call today to get a copy of the "job description" and offer your volunteer efforts!
Volunteer opportunities include:
Projects Unlimited Committee - this committee helps to plan project workshops and determines how the 4-H Exhibit Building will be arranged for the fair. They work at setting up the building and taking it down after the fair. We would like to have one adult and one youth representative from each club for this committee.
Building Maintenance Committee - this committee prioritizes and as appropriate, helps with building maintenance and equipment needs. They also review insurance policies, rental policies and procedures and help with the building storage. Individuals who have skills in building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, carpentry) are always needed.
Foodstand Committee- this committee plans the operation of the 4-H Foodstand - the 4-H program's largest fundraiser. The committee includes representatives from clubs plus standing committee members.
Cloverbud or Spectacular Science Volunteer - adult and youth leaders willing to share your skills and interests with children in grades K-2 and 3rd+ at monthly afterschool sessions held at the Dawson and Madison Elementary and LQPV Schools. We are always looking for energetic volunteers! Please contact MaryAnn Anderson at the Extension Office if you are willing to help, have ideas to share or would like to lead a session.
Project Leader - this position can be for youth or adults to lead a project meeting for any of the 4-H projects.
Project Bowl Coaches - this position is for adults to lead teams in practice and Regional Project Bowl.
Aquatic Robotics Investigators Group - we are in need of adults to assist the youth in a variety of learning in AIS.
Volunteers for committees need to sign up in the Extension Office by November 15. Give it a try - you all are awesome!
4-H in the NEWS!
