Happy Summer Vacation!
Message from Principal Polomsky
Elmwood Parents & Community
On behalf of the entire staff at Elmwood, we want to thank you for your collaboration, partnership, and support as we worked with your children this year. Elmwood is truly a special place to learn and grow. I am proud of the growth your children have made this year and we can't wait to see what next year brings!
To our amazing 5th grade student & parents moving on, best wishes in your continued journey on to Lincoln or Jefferson. We enjoyed watching the video from yesterday's celebration! Congratulations!
While my last official day at Elmwood isn’t until June 30th, I know that many of you are ready to have some closure on this school year in order to look ahead into summer vacation.
With that, I wanted to say good-bye for now and best wishes to all of you. While I am excited about the next chapter in our lives in California, I am sad to leave such an extraordinary community.
The past seven years have been filled with wonderful memories that will never be forgotten. Most importantly, I am personally fulfilled as I have watched your children grow over the years. Your children are well prepared to succeed in the future as they continue with life’s journey, and I wish them the very best.
You have been an amazing partner to work with over the years and I truly appreciate the support you have provided to the staff and myself.
I will miss all of you and your children and I can’t thank you enough for the experiences that you and your children have provided to me.
If you need anything, I’m still around until 6/30/20; however if I don’t hear from you, I wish you the best. If you make it out to California in the future, please be sure to look me up as I’d enjoy seeing you and the kids.
Best Regards,
Lisa

Summer Resources
As you look ahead and into the summer, we want to share some available online resources that we've made available to our students while they are at home. Please check these resources out and encourage your kids to do the same.
SOAR into Summer Reading
There is no school for 89 days! Why not Soar into Reading? Follow the easy directions in the flyer below and you will be involved in a celebration when you return to school this fall. At the celebration we will share books and you will receive a Summer Reading certificate.
What Happens:
- Read at least 800 minutes (grades K-2) or 1,000 minutes (grades 3-5).
- If you read that amount, you will receive a certificate of recognition at the Celebration.
See the flyer about Summer Reading and record your summer reading minutes.
