SMS is partnering with Tyson Foods & local food banks to bring SMS families food every Thursday if possible. This coming Thursday, April 23 @ 10:00 we will be set up on the bus pick up side of SMS by the awning for families to pick up chicken, possibly produce and some dry goods. We will be set up so families can pull up and pop the trunk.
We are all in this together and by pulling together, we will get through this!
Sending thoughts and love your way,
Dr. Dodson

AMI LESSON PLANS 21-25 THIS WEEK!
Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days are days in which students participate in at-home lessons instead of attending a school building. AMI days are used when exceptional or emergency circumstances occur, allowing the school district to not extend the school year.
At-home assignments are due at the end of the week or first of next week when you pick up new AMI packets with Days 11-30. If students are doing assignments online, they will be due at the end of each week.

Nominate your teacher for the Monthly Super Spartan Staff Award
Nominate Your Teacher Today
KNWA’s Golden Apple Award Contest, sponsored by Post Consumer Brands, is back for its 3rd year. This contest highlights the efforts of our NWA teachers/ coaches/ classroom instructors that go above and beyond the normal duties of teaching within a classroom and how they “Make Better Happen” for their students. If you know someone like this, we would love to hear about them.
Once a month, one teacher/coach from NWA school districts (traditional and non-traditional settings) will be chosen for an amazing prize package (Golden Apple Award, $150 Walmart Gift Card, and $50 restaurant gift card). The winner will also have a surprise classroom visit from our very own Tavares Jones, a Post Consumer Brand rep, and a camera crew. On the last Wednesday of the month the story will air. (Visits will be organized and confirmed through winning schools principal’s office).
Below you will find the link to our Golden Apple online submission page. Please share this with all of your teachers in your district. This contest will run through the entire school year and our first teacher will be chosen in September. Thank you for your assistance with this wonderful opportunity.
