Ways I can Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle
When I'm done drinking from a bottle, I won't throw it out, I will put it in a recycling bin. With an empty can, I can use it to hold pencils, and I can plant trees, in my front and backyard. I can also help out at the Jaret Nature center coming up, and I can spend more time outside, then inside.
How did Earth Day start?
It started by a guy named Gaylord Nelson, he was upset that no one paid any attention to the trees. He convinced the president at that time to do a conservation, it didn't become a big success. He kept going for nine years speaking to audiences, he stated a nationwide grassroots demonstration for the environment, this made people pay attention to the environment. On April 22, 1970, more than 20 million demonstrators and thousands of schools and local communities participated in his idea. A year later, it became a national holiday.
