What a great day it was at Rockcreek! There were many celebrations occurring around the building. The second graders were dressed in their finest for the Cinderella Ball as others were celebrating with fun activities in the classroom.
The first part of ISTEP is just around the corner. Please see the link below for information from the state as we prepare for ISTEP. The ISTEP Experience allows student, teachers, and parents an opportunity to see the format for ISTEP. Teachers are continuing to focus on student need and growth.

Last week, we looked at options for representing language, mathematical expressions, and symbols by comparing UDL to the back of a cake mix box. This week, we look at options for comprehension or understanding.

3-D Geometry Highlighting patterns and critical features in geometry helps students understand big ideas and concepts.
Read with Me Another digital reading site, but this one offers adults a glimpse at how to guide information processing with young readers.
Quizlet As the name indicates, this site offers thousands of ways to practice transfer and generalization of information. From flashcards to word games, “study sets” can be created for all manner of vocabulary in several languages as well as math facts.

Kindergarten Round Up begins March 7th. Please plan to join us on March 7th 6-7 pm for an opportunity to visit classrooms and meet the teachers. You may also enroll your child during office hours 9am - 2pm each day at Rockcreek after March 7th. We are excited to meet you!
If you have a child you feel would benefit for early Kindergarten enrollment you can view the application materials online beginning Feb. 1st. The deadline to turn in applications for early Kindergarten enrollment is April 1st. This is only for students younger than 5 by August 1st.
