From the Principal Desk—
Hello Hilltopper Families:
Hello! Hi! Hola! Bonjour! KonnichiHa! This week at Park is Start with Hello Week. Start with Hello Week is a national campaign organized by the Sandy Hook Promise Organization focused on celebrating kindness, connection, inclusion, empathy, and belonging among all students.
Park students and staff participated in theme days throughout the week by wearing favorite things, bright colors and hats. I loved wearing my Taylor Swift sweatshirt and the students loved asking me my favorite T. Swift song! The week kicked off with grade level assemblies led by Mrs. Barnett, as well as a Mix It Up Lunch in the cafeteria on Monday. Students in different classes were given colored craft sticks that corresponded to tablecloths and balloons on a table. Students matched their sticks to a table and were given conversation starters and the fun began! The goal of this activity was to help students practice initiating and engaging in conversations with classmates that they may not know very well yet. They made new friends quickly!
Students have enjoyed meeting new classmates, sharing their favorites and participating in activities that encouraged them to make connections with others. Be sure to ask your child about the Start with Hello events happening at Park! Have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Makee
