Harvest Fest - 10/27, 6:30-8:00pm
Leverty Letter
· Newfangled doors
· Celebrating success!
· Harvest Fest Help!
Secured Doors: We are so excited that our new security system is up and functioning. As community members, you’ll especially be happy to know this improved security system will greatly improve the level of care and safety we can provide your child(ren). I wanted to highlight some of the “things you’ll need to know” moving forward.
· Doors will open between 8:00-8:30 AM for student arrival. Please make sure students don’t arrive before that time as they will not be able to gain access to the building.
· Community members will access the building through the new vestibule, ushering people directly into the office rather than the school. Office doors will be open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
· Once in the vestibule, if Karen or Teri do not see you through the window, PUSH bell to alert office you need access, AND wait until the door clicks before you pull it open. There are three buttons to push before the door unlocks, so please be patient and wait for the clicking sound.
· If students arrive after 8:30 AM, a staff member will walk them to their classroom, as all exterior doors are locked and require a staff pass.
· Volunteers will need to work with their teacher/staff member to gain entry into various parts of the building.
· For security purposes, we will not be issuing passes to any community members.
Montclair Students Soar: Recently, you might have noticed that the state released the 2016-17 school report cards and Montclair demonstrated a significant increase in academic success. We’re very proud of the performance our students and teachers demonstrated! Celebratory gains that are noteworthy include:
*Montclair was the only BSD school (elementary through high school) that increased one full level in both Academic Growth & Academic Achievement
* Montclair was one of two elementary schools that increased one full level in Academic Achievement.
* Montclair was one of two elementary schools that increased one full level in Academic Achievement.
*Check out the Report Card on the Montclair website.
Harvest Fest: Each year a wonderful group of parent/guardian volunteers step up to coordinate and put on the Harvest Fest for all of Montclair students. This has been a tradition and favored event for our students, which allows an evening to celebrate with their peers. Unfortunately, this year we’re having trouble finding adults to volunteer for the various fun activities, so the PTO is reaching out to see if people can step up and support this event. If you’re available, even for a short time, please let the Harvest Fest Coordinator, Jennifer Histed know. Email: JHisted@LHS.ORG (971)227-8334

PTO Harvest Fest ~ Friday, 10/27
One of the annual highlights of the season is Montclair’s PTO sponsored Harvest Festival. It requires a lot of volunteers to make it run as smoothly as possible and this is where you come in. We are asking that each of you consider volunteering for this event to make it the best possible for our kids!
The Harvest Festival will be held this Friday October 27th, 2017 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Montclair. Your little Hawkeyes will have an opportunity to show off their Halloween costumes (no masks or play weapons please) and play festive fall games at this super fun event.
Kids must be accompanied by an adult!
Highlights include:
Face Painting Station
Pumpkin Golf
Ring Around the Pumpkin
and much more....
It takes many fabulous volunteers to pull off this event and there are several activities still needing to be filled. Openings are posted on MyVolunteerPage! Login to check out the opportunities still available. Hope to see you all at Harvest Festival!
