Superintendent Steinhauser
I have been blessed to serve under his leadership and the direction he has provided for two decades to LBUSD and the students we collectively serve. I am grateful as he is guiding and supporting/navigating us through this current situation. He does this with grace and care for the LB community that is his #heart his #passion and his #whywedothis.

What a beautiful day in the #GATORNATION community/neighborhood
Dear Gompers Families,
My heart, my mind, my spirit is filled with LOVE and GRATITUDE as an educator.....Friday was a great day in #GATORNATION. Thank you to all the families that came out to be a part of our community parade... I say community parade because...it involved not only our current students and families but also our neighbors. Team Gompers teachers and staff were soooooo excited to see you and just be connected back with you only if for an hour.
Yes, yes, the dynamics of schooling and learning have completely flipped and I know it has not been an easy task as a parent/guardian to now become a "home school teacher". Hopefully, this past week once, you were able to navigate and get into your child's Google Classroom and begin the Home Learning Opportunities (HLO) activities from your child's teacher(s). These activities are meant to support the continuity of learning, that are directly related to relevant/essential grade-level standards. Your teachers are here to help and support their students, please reach out to them with questions or concerns.
Please note by Thursday(4/9), I will share a special parent bulletin with you as LBUSD is moving to streamline student learning hours as it relates to "direct/live" instruction virtually vs just posting of assignments. The schedule will include both elementary and middle school instruction hours, and "teacher office support hours for students" who need additional help. Additionally, we will have knowledge of grading as it connects to Quarter 4.
In this bulletin, it outlines a new support system for technology concerns. The district has set up an avenue for parents needing "technical assistance/Chromebook", see the details below for where to access on the website under the Home Learning Page.
Thank you for your patience and support of Gompers during this time, it continues to be appreciated by the staff and myself.
Stay well and safe!
Respectfully - Dr. Miller
PS...OMGGG, I have a very cool SPRING BREAK CHALLENGE....bursting with excitement....I will share it with you on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY' #Gatornation Broadcast....sooooo excited!!!
Office Hours - Via Google Voice
Gompers will have a new phone number for parents/community to call. The phone number will be listed on the website.

Supporting Students with Special Needs/IEPs
More "specific" information regarding supporting "ALL" of our students and their unique needs to access the core standards and curriculum via their IEP will be forthcoming.
Our SPED office and teachers are all in alignment with directives, please ensure you have reviewed the HLO page and the link for Special Education.
If there is a specific concern, that has not been addressed by your child's case carrier. Please email me.
