News from Mrs. Diggs
Thank you so very much for helping us attain our goal of raising $10,000 for curriculum resources and flexible seating options for students through our Patriot Boosterthon Fun Run and character education! Over the last 2 weeks, our students have been immersed in learning about Mindspark STEM challenges while also focusing on character lessons that were presented by the amazing Boosterthon Staff. We are extremely appreciative for each of the donations you were able to secure as these funds will directly impact all students here at Providence Elementary. Although our run turned into a slight mud run, students and staff alike had the most amazing time while also engaging in physical fitness. For all those tracking their steps and mileage throughout the day, I'm happy to say I ended the day with over 18,000 steps and accumulated nearly 7 miles of movement.
This month, we will continue to focus on GRIT as we hold conversations and write about our current Patriot Focus Book, What Do You Do With a Problem, by Kobi Yamada. We will be specifically honing in on discussing Resiliency and Perseverance as it relates to our learning and everyday life. We encourage you to hold conversations with your Patriot about ways they have faced challenges that have required them to be resilient while persevering. Mrs. Weiper and I are looking forwarding to sharing specific examples of Patriots who have demonstrated Resiliency and Perseverance throughout this grading period.
I am truly blessed to be able to serve our students, staff, and our Providence community. If I can be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact me by calling the school at 940-369-1900 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
With Patriot Pride,
Jairia Diggs, M.Ed.

Patriot Emergency Operations Update
As you are aware, our campus has a Patriot Emergency Operations Plan that allows us to reflect upon ways that we keep our students, staff and community safe. We want our community to be aware that we recently had the opportunity to practice an evacuation drill where each of our students were escorted off-campus by staff members to an alternate location. This drill took approximately 15 minutes from start to finish. We would enact an evacuation in the event that our building (i.e. - concerns with HVAC units) presented an unsafe scenario for students and staff. Thank you for continuing to hold conversations about ways to remain safe with your Patriot learner. We truly appreciate your partnership!
