LEArn and LEAd TRAINING OFFERED @ SE-RPDC
LEArn & LEAd...get it "LEA"
The SE RPDC has contracted with national presenters Julie Weatherly and Sally Earnest to provide “LEAd and LEArn”. This training will equip district staff with the skills necessary to perform their legal obligations as a Local Education Agency (LEA) Representative, as well as, the skills necessary to facilitate a legally compliant and productive IEP meeting.( More specific details regarding the training can be found on the registration page by following link below). As I have mentioned in previous emails, the intended audience of this training is any staff, who may serve or who currently serves, as a LEA representative for IEP meetings in your district. This training is designed for district and building level administrators, counselors, process coordinators, as well as, Special Education Directors. I would highly recommend sending all staff who serve as LEAs within your district so they can gain the knowledge necessary to fulfill the legal obligations and responsibilities associated with being the district designated LEA in IEP meetings.
The all-day training (8 am -4 pm) will be held on October 11,2016 at the Southeast RPDC in Cape Girardeau. The presenters have capped the enrollment to 45. Please be aware that once the maximum capacity has been reached we will not be able to open up additional seats due to the nature of this training, nor, will we be able to open an additional session. I would advise registering your district personnel as soon as you are able; as I expect this to workshop to fill up very quickly, once again.
The cost of the workshop will be $175 per participant. A light breakfast (bagels, muffins, coffee, tea, water), and boxed lunches (sandwich, cookies, chips, drink) will be provided to all participants. In addition to breakfast and lunch, participants will also receive a Legal Manual, an IEP Meeting Facilitation Manual and a Toolkit as resources.
Registration is now open. Please follow this link to sign up.
