November 2023 Newsletter
Wickliffe Family Resource Center
It's Giving Tuesday!
This Giving Tuesday, we invite you take a look at the graphic below to learn about the various programs and services offered through The Family Resource Center of Wickliffe. This is just a glimpse into all that we do to help people and improve outcomes in our community.
By donating today, you could help provide basic needs such as shampoo, toothpaste, and soap for local Northeast Ohio families through our WicKloset Program. Your gift could help sponsor a child's backpack and school supplies for one year through our annual Back-to-School Bash. A small donation of just $20 could sponsor a family's entire holiday meal through our annual Thanksgiving Distribution.
Help us fulfill our mission of bringing together services and activities that educate, develop skills, and promote health and well-being in order to improve the outcomes of students, families, and individuals in our NE Ohio community and beyond. Click the link below and donate today!
2023 Thanksgiving Drive and Distribution
Throughout the month of November, we held a district and community-wide food drive which brought in tons of non-perishable food donations! Special thanks to the following volunteers and groups listed below who made this all possible.
- Thank you to the Wickliffe High School Student Council and “Learn. Lead. Serve.” Program student volunteers for their help in promoting the drive, as well as collecting and sorting through the donations!
- Shout-out to the amazing Wickliffe City School District PTO for their contribution of perishable food items to ensure every family had fresh, healthy food for their Thanksgiving tables. We couldn’t have done this without the parent volunteers who helped pick up and transport the items from SweetBerry Fresh Market (huge thank you to Ryan and the SweetBerry Team for all of their generosity and support) to the WFRC and package everything up!
- We are grateful for the WCSD Staff, especially the Counseling Department, who helped identify families in need and helped to distribute all of the items!
- Lastly, thank you to everyone who donated goods, cash, or gift cards which allowed us to provide Thanksgiving meals to 40+ local families! Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you, Shoreline Church!
Last week, they made a drop off to us that took several trips just to haul all of the donations inside! We are overwhelmed by their generosity, and eager to distribute these items to our clients!
Thank you, United Way of Lake County!
A special shout out to our friends at United Way of Lake County for braving the rain and cold on November 17, to distribute food to local pantries, including us, that we were then able distribute to local families for our annual Thanksgiving distribution! We are grateful for UWLC's continued support and partnership.
One last thank-you to the folks at Farmers Insurance who were helping load up vehicles with food!
Conversations from the Commons
This is the second installment in a new podcast series through the Wickliffe City School District called "Conversations from the Commons." The series will feature staff, students, and community members who will talk about all things Wickliffe Schools.

Mobile Dentists Coming to the Campus of Wickliffe
Paper registration forms were sent home with Lower School students, but you can also register online using the link below.
https://www.myschooldentist.com/WEWIOH_sch
Smile Programs will be offering comprehensive dental care during this visit. This means preventative care, such as cleanings, in addition to restorative care like fillings.
Smile Programs keeps permission forms on file for 18 months—long enough to cover 3 visits. After that, a new form must be filled out.
Parents and guardians are always encouraged to fill out a new registration form (even if their student was just seen in the Spring) in case there have been any address or dental insurance changes!
Please note that completing the registration using the link above does not guarantee that your student will receive dental services at this upcoming visit, as we are already reaching capacity. It does however, put them on the list to be seen at future clinics!
