Good evening Sierra Madre Families, this is Mrs. Lewis, your principal. Happy Mother’s day to all of the moms out there! Last week was an amazing week as the whole SME staff felt appreciated by all of you. I am also so proud of all of our students who competed this weekend in the state competition for History Day AND all of our kiddos that placed in the district’s Innovation Exposition! We sure do have talented kiddos with a lot to share with this world!
Here are the announcements for this week:
Monday, May 9th we will have our BRAVO morning assembly starting at 7:50am.
Friday, May 13th is our last virtual AFB meeting of the year, at 9am. Please come to vote on our slate for the AFB committee, hear about our success from the auction, and plan for how we raise money moving forward.

AFB needs your vote on the proposed slate of candidates! Join us for our last meeting on Friday, May 13, at 9 a.m. when we discuss the auction, share our fundraising totals for the 2022-2023 school year, and vote in a new board. Please join using the link in the SMORE.

Parent Volunteers on Campus- PLEASE READ
Please click through the below volunteer orientation slide deck and follow all of the links to the paperwork needed to be eligible for volunteering.
Teachers will be sending out a communication with the days and times parent volunteers are needed in their classroom, if any, for those of you who meet the requirements and are approved. Not all parents will be able to volunteer, even if eligible.
All parent volunteers are subject to screening by the principal.

Vaccination Clinics for PUSD
We strongly encourage parents/guardians to get their children vaccinated as soon as possible. The State of California has announced that the COVID-19 vaccine will be a required vaccination (with options for personal exemptions) once it receives full FDA approval. We know that vaccinations are a key component to preventing the spread of COVID-19.

PUSD offers vaccines on Mondays at the PUSD Education Center. No appointment is necessary, but pre-registration via the links listed below is encouraged.
