What Did He Invent?
George Washington Carver invented many different uses for the peanut. He didn't so much invent as devise hundreds of additional uses for plants, especially peanuts and sweet potatoes.

George developed hundreds of products using the peanut, sweet potatoes and soybeans. Without this food other things would of never been invented. So it's very important to have this as a resource

His invention is important, because without it back then no one would of had the things they needed to grow crop such as soybeans and sweet potatoes.
How Do We Use Them Today?
Even though that Carver didn't invent peanut butter he did find 100 different ways to use peanuts as a resource although many of these things have been taken over with technology but some are still used for crops today.
