Mobile Phone Features

GPS also know as Global Positioning System is a navigational system that determines your position but is not able to plan a journey. It involves satellites and computers that can determine the latitude and longitude of a receiver on Earth by computing the time difference for signals from different satellites to reach the receiver.

NFC also known as Near Field Communication is a short-range high frequency wireless communication technology which enables the exchange of data between devices over about a 10 centimeter distance. An example of this in use is on/in a mobile phone, you can blip it and your purchase will be billed to your bank account.

Screen Size

The screen size has an effect on many parts of the mobile phone. For example the screen picture quality will depend on how big the screen is to the number of pixels. A down side of a large screen means a bigger phone which can sometime be inconvenient, but also means the picture would be bigger. The bigger screen would also use up the battery quicker than a smaller screen.

Bluetooth is a wireless device to connect a mobile with either a headset or car, enabling users to make or receive calls on their phones without holding it. They are able to quickly switch calls between the phone and the headset/car giving the user more mobility.

Wireless local area network: a local area network that uses high frequency radio signals to transmit and receive data over distances of a few hundred feet. Mobiles have the ability now to connect to this as a way of accessing data and the internet. But connecting to this uses a lot of battery up as it is constantly searching for wifi.

Bands are the country/ies that you can use your mobile in.

There are four different types of Band:

Single - just one country

Duel - two countries

Tri - three countries

Quad - all countries

A consistent traveler would be better off with a Quad than any of the other bands on their phone.

External Storage

This is usually an SD card that you can remove and store data/photos on. Also this makes it easier to transfer data to other devices and can be used as a backup.
