The Pacer Perspective
October 3-7
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Hello Pacers, Pacer Parents, and Colleagues,
We are back in the thick of things at PCHS. The beautiful array of October colours, the crisp morning air and absence of pesky mosquitoes are all signs of a fresh start to another school year. With this in mind, I am happy to announce PCHS has three new staff members. Alison Husch is our new TAII, Dan Bisoo is our new TLC teacher, and Art Koop is teaching English, Social Studies and the Culinary Arts.
In line with our board priorities, we are re-introducing Instructional Rounds. I am very excited about the amazing opportunities it will provide for professional growth and learning for our Staff and Administration.
On October 18th, the School Council is voting on the following positions: Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Fundraising Committee. Come out and be an active part of PCHS’s School Council. The meeting is in the Pacer Success Center. For more information, please contact Alison Peyton. The front office has her phone number and her email address if you have any questions.
This Weekend In Sports: Our Junior Varsity Girls Volleyball team took a silver metal in Westlock! Great job Pacers!
In their first league football game ever, our Pacers gained a year's worth of experience. We played a tough Tier 1 Grande Prairie Team on Friday. The final score was 50-6. However, the score does not reflect the level of skill our team has, and from a coaching perspective, with a few less turn-overs, a couple of critical tackles, and a few more complete passes, it would have been a very different final score. I am very proud of our players for playing their hearts out until the very last whistle. Next Thursday, we head to Whitecourt to play the T-Cats at 4:00pm.
On a personal note, I wanted to express my gratitude for all the amazing fans that came out to watch the football game on Friday. A shout to Don DeLeeuw for taking the reins and announcing at the game. Another shout out to all the other parents and volunteers that came together to make it a special day.
Have a great week, everyone!

"I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." - Michael Jordan
