Basic First-Aid Info

Adults

  • Sprains: Rest, ice, compress, then elevate your injured area for relief from pain and a faster recovery.
  • Bleeding: Remove clothing to expose the wound, then put pressure on it. Clean it with soap and water, then put antibiotic ointment on the wound and wrap it in a bandage.
  • Burn:

If you or your clothing is on fire, stop drop and roll!

Immediately hold it under cool water until the pain is gone. Cover any blisters with a loose bandage, and call the doctor if it looks serious.
  • Poison: Monitor the person's breathing and response, and call Poison Control immediately.
  • If a person is injured, make sure to remain calm, and act quickly so you don't startle them and get help as soon as possible.
