What's the 411?

Saturday, May 16th at 9am - Monday, May 18th at 10pm

The 4T Virtual Conference is an opportunity for educators from across the globe to connect, network, and learn from each other about issues in technology education. About 700 K-16 teachers from across the globe sign up each year to attend the conference!

The conference is FREE and open to all educators. The sessions target K-12 practicing and preservice teachers. The conference will be held virtually—no plane tickets, no hotel fees. SCECHs are free too!

Our conference is unique--our lead presenters (all K-12 teachers) go through professional development training on how to design and present a dynamic PD webinar session! Thus, you can expect ALL our sessions to be interactive, engaging and educative.

BE A LEAD PRESENTER - deadline January 23

We are seeking motivated, imaginative, and forward-thinking educators to present at our conference in May 2015. These K-12 teachers and administrators use technology to enhance communication and learning in their classrooms and schools.

We use a professional development approach with conference presenters:

  • We select a small group (6-8) of teachers and administrators to participate in a series of hands-on virtual workshops prior to the conference to develop their virtual teaching skills.
  • The 5 short virtual workshops, facilitated by faculty at the University of Michigan School of Education, School of Information, and Oakland Schools, will expand educators' online presenting skills during March, April and May in preparation to present a webinar during the May 2015 virtual conference.
  • Presenters will select ONE engaging lesson or activity they already teach that integrates technology and convert it to a virtual webinar lesson for participants to experience during the 4T Conference.
  • These professional learning workshops will be live and virtual, thus you do not have to be local or native to Michigan in order to be a presenter in the conference.
  • For more information, dates of the workshop sessions, and the free SCECHs you'll earn, click here.

Lightning sessions will be 60 minutes in total with 2 presenters in each session. You do not need to apply in a group. You can apply for a 20 to 30 minute segment of the lightning session. Groups/panels of presenters are welcome to apply.
