It is hard to believe that next Friday is the last day of term 1. It has been a very busy term with lots of learning opportunities. Some of these include: swimming lessons, a visit from the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, digital technologies sessions hosted by Christchurch City Libraries, teaching teams attending a weekday Mass three times a term and next week we have our school cross country on Tuesday.
In the Kotahitanga Team students have been extending their scientific skills through the study of plants. They have been using our new electronic microscope to make discoveries of details of seeds and plants that cannot be seen easily with the naked eye. I have loved seeing their enthusiasm as they make new discoveries each day. In the Arataki Team, as part of their science learning, they have been studying the human body and the functions of its many organs. As part of their student directed learning on Figure It Out Fridays many students have created projects about the body and have thought up many interesting ways to share their learning.
As this is the last newsletter for the term I'd like to take the opportunity to wish you all a safe and restful holiday break.
