What we are learning!
Here is what we will be learning in the upcoming week:
The italicized questions drive what we are learning. We will focus on these questions thorughout the entire unit. The statements below are the student learning goals for the week.
Reading-
- What strategies do readers use to monitor for meaning?
- How do readers challenge themselves?
- I can set goals for my reading and track my progress
- I can read with increasing stamina
- I can read fluently, accurately, and with expression
Writing-
- How do writers use various techniques to enhance their narrative writing?
- How do narratives unfold in a way that makes sense to the reader?
- With guidance, I can use the writing process to produce high quality writing pieces
Math-
- How does a digit's position affect it's value?
- I can represent numbers up to 10,000,000 using standard, expanded, and written form.
- I can compare and order numbers up to 10,000,000.
- I can recognize that each place to the right is 1/10 as much in a multi-digit number.
Science
- I can form testable questions and hypotheses.
- I can determine the appropriate tools and techniques to collect data
