Sight Words

Students will be tested on Friday. Please keep the "I Can!" sight word flashcards in the red folders. We will be adding the new flashcards to the rings on Monday.

Students who tested a 70 or below will be retested. Please look at the sheet in the red folder that shows which sight words students should be practicing.


List 1 - the, of, and, a, to
List 2 - in, is, you, that, it

List 3 - he, was, for, on, are
List 4 : as, with , his, they, I
List 5: at, be, this, have, from

Reading/Writing:
Phonemic Awareness skills: initial sounds, rhyming, and blending with syllables.

We are continuing with our writing journal where students are able to illustrate and create sentences. Students are adding more detail to both their illustrations and writing.

Step by Step Drawing

I showed students a video on a step by step process on how to draw a pumpkin. They loved it! Students will sometimes get frustrated when they do not know how to draw something or it isn't "perfect". Step by step drawing instruction gives them so much confidence.

Tuesday, Nov 1st: All Saints Day. Mass in the assembly hall @8:15. Parents welcome :)
Friday, Nov 4th: End of First Trimester. Report cards will be emailed the next week.
Wednesday, Nov 9th : Noon Dismissal
Thursday and Friday night (Nov 10 & 11th) : 6th-8th grade Wizard of Oz performance 7pm in assembly hall
Friday, Nov 11th: Teacher Appreciation Day. Bagged lunch for students. There will be no cafeteria food served.
