2019-2020 School Year Schedule
- 7:10am Doors open (lobby and cafeteria)
- 7:15am Breakfast is served
- 7:25am 1st Bell (to lockers)
- 7:35am 2nd Bell (to class)
- 7:40am Start time (Comet Capsule begins)
- 2:30pm End time
- 2:40pm All students exit building unless involved in an activity
- 4:30pm Late bus (must be participating in afterschool program to ride)
Kellogg Traffic Pattern
- All traffic leaves west, heading toward Broadway.
- If you drive behind the building, traffic is one way, east to west.
- If you enter from the west side, drop your child off at curb on the west end of the building.
- No cars are allowed in front of the building while buses are present.
Attendance
- Students will have 4 minutes between classes.
- If a student is tardy or absent, a phone call will come home to alert parents.
- Students are expected to have a pass to be in the hall during class sessions.
- Parents should report absences by calling 507-328-5810, emailing peginther@rochester.k12.mn.us or sending a note.

Target + Exploratory (Art and Energy & Environment, 1 semester each) (every other day)
Lunch (30) + Advisory (25)
Advisory & Lunch
- Students will have either Advisory then Lunch or Lunch then Advisory.
- Half of the grade eats at one time; no switches are allowed.
- During Advisory, students focus on mindfulness, character, organization, social-emotional learning, relationship building.
- Most days kids have a short recess following lunch.
- Lunch offers 4 lines (2 hot entrees, a meatless option, boxed salads, sandwiches, fruits, veggies and milk).
- A la carte items are offered but students must have money in their account to purchase. To set a limit on spending, please contact SNS.

Behavior Expectations
- Be safe.
- Be responsible.
- Be respectful.
- If students are meeting expectations, they may be awarded Cool Comets which can be used at a school store once per quarter. There are also weekly drawings on our news program, Comet Capsule.
- If students are not meeting expectations, their behaviors will be documented through level 1 referrals (managed by teachers) or level 2 referrals (managed by administration).
Electronic Devices
- Yes, you can bring your phone to school.
- No pictures or videos are allowed.
- We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
*We are currently reviewing our phone policy. New expectations may be in place for next year.
Communication
- Join us in our text messaging group through Remind. To join, send a text message containing this message @kmsbound to the number 81010. Once you have done this successfully, you will receive a text confirmation. Our messages will go out to the whole group, but your messages reply to just Mrs. McAndrews.

Our fall production kicks off the 2nd day of school, so be prepared!
Auditions will be held September 4-6 from 2:30-4:30.
- Wednesday – singing
- Thursday – speaking
- Friday – callbacks (will be posted Friday morning on auditorium door)
- Monday – results posted
Other Important Details
- Practices will be held Monday - Friday 2:30-4:30 in the auditorium.
- Be sure to share practice and performance schedule concerns at the time you audition.
- Day (school-aged) and evening performances will take place the week before Thanksgiving (Nov 18-22).
- Admission to the show is $5.
- Student activity fee is $20.
