A quote that Minty said when she got hit by the medal weight was: "That weight shattered my skull and cut a piece of that shawl clean off and drove it in my head. They carried me to the house all bleeding and fainting. I had no bed, no place to lie down at all, and they laid me an the seat of loom, and I stayed there all day and the next".It took months for Minty to recover. This happend : One day when Tubman was in the grocery store she spotted a slave. The slave was trying to escape but Harriet was blocking the doors. The master saw the slave escaping so he picked up a metal weight and aimed it at the slave instead it hit Minty.
