Science - Mrs. Sexton
We are learning about using Punnett Squares to determine probabilities in genetics. We have focused on Complete Dominance. Our next step is to look at incomplete dominance and co-dominance. Please check with your child and talk about our lessons to be sure he/she is on track. We will start a project near the end of the week called Dragon Genetics. The students will have a couple of days to design a setting for their baby dragon. Please look for this project and use it to find out about what your child is learning.
Wednesday, April 3rd is an Early Release Day!
ELA & SS - Mrs. Owensby
7th Grade ELA
Students will be completing an expository essay this week. They will also be analyzing informational text.
7th Grade SS
Students will be studying India and Africa during the Cold War.
Science - Mrs. Griffin
The students will continue working on genetics. They will have activities in class to help them understand how organisms that reproduce sexually transfer genetic information (DNA) to their offspring. There will be classwork, homework, Study Island and USA Test Prep assignments, along with small test.
Social Studies - Mr. Creswell
We will continue to learn about India and Pakistan this week, and will have a test Thursday.
Math - Mr. Smith
7th grade math students competed their study of probability with a chapter 17 test on Friday. Students will now explore the use of statistics to solve problems.
Dance - Mrs. Brewington
7th Grade Dance Rotation:
We will continue to choreograph and work on our fitness.
7th dance focus: Dance injuries (Story Jumper) assignment is due April 5th.
