Lincoln Elementary Weekly Update
August 28th, 2020
Message From Mrs. K
Our first week was a success! It is such a joy to visit rooms and see children making friends, building community, and eagerly learning. Our Lincoln staff and students continue to amaze me with their adaptability during these unique times, and we thank you for all your support.
We are still experiencing larger-than-normal volume of cars coming to drop off and pick up students. Please remember to always pull all the way up, do not park or get out of your car in the drop off/pick-up lane, and line up on the east-facing wall for us to call your students out if you have parked. If your child needs assistance opening a car door or buckling themselves, we highly recommend parking and walking up. City and hospital officials would really like our help in keeping Jefferson and Broadway from being blocked, and we all want to keep your children safe. We appreciate your support!
Finally, we are noticing a large amount of students gathering early in the morning at Lincoln. We are happy they are excited to be here! However, please understand that the doors at Lincoln will be unlocked at 7:45am, but school does not begin until 8:15am. If students arrive earlier, either by walking or by drop-off, there will not be any adult supervision, nor will they be allowed to enter the building, before 7:45am. Thank you for your help with this.
In partnership,
-Mrs. Kirkwold
Start using Seesaw!
Your child's teacher will be sending home a letter today with instructions to get you started. Very soon classroom teachers will be moving from using email to using Seesaw as your major communication tool with families. If we were ever to move to a distance or hybrid learning model, most (if not all) learning will be facilitated through Seesaw for our primary students. We encourage you to get started soon!
Here are a few tools that may help with any questions you have about Seesaw:

If you need assistance or have questions, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher. This tool is new to many of us as well so we will do our best to assist you while we learn together.
